Sunday, July 5th - COMMUNION SUNDAY OFFERING:
Our special offering following the service this day will defray the expenses for 3 of our ladies from the Lydia Center to attend the "Women of Faith" Conference on July 30 - Aug. 1st.
A LEARNING OASIS for the LADIES: Has a lie infiltrated your beliefs about God? We welcome the ladies to come and invest time once/week in the study of the book, "Ten Lies About God". The book costs $10.25. Author A.W. Tozer noted noted that, "what we believe about God is the most important thing about us."
To make sure our views and convictions about our Creator stay based on biblical truth, we must align what we believe with the Scriptures. Each week we will discuss "lies" such as:
"Many paths lead into God's presence"
"God helps those who help themselves"
"God is more tolerant than He used to be.."
We will top off our beginning with a tea on Sept. 10th and the study will conclude on Nov. 19th. It will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church in Wrightsville from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Contact Ruby Yocum, Lynda Habecker or Rosene Hertzler if you have any questions.

AFRICA 2010:
In February 2010, Valley View plans to join a team from the Glenview Alliance Church heading to Burkina Faso. The trip will be 2 weeks in length - Jan. 31, 2009 to Feb.14, 2010 - and will allow those involved to apply their individual skills, energies, and strengths in useful ways. If you are interested in going, but could not come out to the informational meeting back in April, contact Pastor Don to express your desire to be part of this team. It can be a life-changing experience.
CHURCH PARKING LOT:
The lot has been repaved and new lines have been drawn. Doesn't it look wonderful? Barry Miller and his team from Miller Paving applied 600 tons of asphalt to provide this new surface. Tom O'Handly brought his line painting experience to professionally paint all the lines. He was assisted by Rae Hall, George Dvorak, Paul McCleary and Bob Bolton. Some more handicapped spaces were also added while we tried to take maximum advantage of the available spaces in the lot.
RELEASED TIME (for 3rd to 5th graders):
Our released time ministry geared to 3rd - 5th graders in the Kreutz Creek Elementary School started Wed., Oct. 22nd. It meets every Wednesday from 1:30 - 3:00 pm at Valley View. Please see Kathy Myer or Pastor Don if you can help with this ministry.

Volunteer Help Needed!
Valley View can always use extra help with the children's ministries during the Sunday services. Do you have a gift for teaching or simply enjoy interacting with children? If so, why not try out helping out with the children's ministries - the 4 yr old to 1st grade groups or 2nd - 5th grade groups - once every 4 to 6 weeks.
All the material is provided for you.
Let us know you are interested on one of the blue cards or simply call the church office. Tanya Abel, the Jr. Church coordinator, would welcome your assistance.

Second Service Seating Suggestion:
We give thanks to God for the increasing numbers of attendees, especially at our 2nd Sunday service. In light of this, we would like to remind you to try and seat yourself more "efficiently" to help those coming in after you to more readily find
a seat. To do this, please fill the pew from the center to the aisles to allow for more available seating along the aisles. This will make it easier for visitors or those coming in a little later to more easily find a seat and get comfortable, without having to climb over or disturb you in the process.
If you can, try the 8:00 am service on "for size". Junior church and the Nursery are available at this time, too. Thank you for your cooperation and assistance.
** If you have any ideas on how the church can try "reorganizing" either one or both of the services to better accomodate the growing size of the 10:30 service, please share them with the Pastor or one of the Elders.
