SNOWSTORM UPDATE: Due to the snowstorm, both morning services, Sunday School and other activities that had been previously scheduled for 2/7 have been CANCELED.
Updating of Church Prayer e-Chain:
We want to update the church's prayer e-chain. We pass the prayer needs of our church family to the chain. Please let us know if you are interested in being part of the prayer chain by placing your name on a blue card or by calling the church office. We are rebuilding the chain from scratch again so when placing your name on a blue card, please enter all information, including your address and best number (and time) to contact you. If you ever have a prayer request don't hesitate to call the church office, leave a voice mail, speak with Pastor Don or one of the church elders.
Can You be a Host Family for One Evening? (Feb. 25th) : Valley View has agreed to host a student led team of singers from Grove City College in Grove City, PA for an evening concert on Feb. 25th. The total group number consists of 15 to 20. If you have extra room to provide overnight lodging on the evening of Feb. 25th, please call Lynn vanHouwe and indicate how many students you can accomodate.
LIFE 2010 - July 6 - 10th; Louisville, KY: With all the preparation that has to be done to insure a great LIFE 2010 that has a lasting and eternal influence on our youth, please keep the following people in your prayers: 1. LIFE impact Executive Director, Jeremy Mapstone and the LIFE 2010 Executive Committee. Pray they make ethical and righteous decisions in planning for a memorable event. 2. Pray for missionaries that are planning to attend and for positive interactions/relationships with (non-missionary) youth in attendance. 3. Pray that churches are able to subsidize the expenses of the youth planning to attend. 4. Pray that churches are successful in finding enough adult sponsors to attend the event with their youth and that the task is made easier by adults coming forward to volunteer their desire to attend as a sponsor. 5. Pray for our youth Pastors, volunteers and other support personnel as they plan and organize all the details for a trip of this magnitude.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY EVENTS:
1. Friday, Feb. 26th; 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Bowling with the Lydia Center - All women are invited to join us and the Lydia Center for a few friendly games of 10-pins at the E. Lincoln Lanes. Cost for the games is $2.50 and for shoe rental is $2.00. Sign up on the Women's bulletin board if you're interested in participating so we can get a head count.
2. Alliance Women's Spring Retreat: March 12 - 14th - Harrisburg E. Holiday Inn: Join the Eastern District ladies for a time of fellowship, encouragement and education at the Spring Retreat. You can attend one evening or the whole weekend depending upon your schedule! Hear different speakers and make new friends! Pick up an informative brochure at the Woman's Ministry Bulletin board to learn about the different registration options or see Kim Swartz for details.
FOOD PANTRY - FEBRUARY: Donations to the food panty - located at Grace United Methodist Church - is a joint effort of Valley View Alliance Church and other churches within the Hellam/Wrightsville area of York. It's intention is to provide food for people/family in need. We are currently collecting canned tuna and other canned meats for distribution. Place these items into the tub located just outside the kitchen door.
(NEW) LOCATION FOR COUNSELING MINISTRY: We are grateful for the provision God has made of a counseling room (Pastor Jeremy's old office) at Valley View. Thanks to Tom O'Handly and Rae Hall for the work done to transform the room, too! Having a segregated room for this purpose not only provides the necessary privacy to persons receiving guidance and instruction from the counseling team, but gives them a chance to work with people on specific issues that require additional attention.
Please keep this special ministry in your prayers so that God can continue to work through all of our couselors to impart the necessary healing to those in crisis. If you feel in need of biblical counseling or know someone who does, do not hesitate to contact the church office @ 755-0193 for guidance.
A.E.D. NOW LOCATED ON VALLEY VIEW SITE: We are very fortunate to have an Automatic External Defibrillator (A.E.D.) on site, thanks to a generous donation to the church. This portable electronic device assists in the diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias (heart beats too slow or too fast) or ventricular fibrillations, which can be life threatening events, and temporarily reverses them by applying an electrical charge to the heart (defibrillation) to "re-set" it back to it's original rhythm.
This allows the heart muscle to once again beat effectively, circulating oxygenated-rich blood through-out all areas of the body, especially one of the more oxygen sensitive organs - the brain - before it is deprived too long of oxygen. This life-saving unit is located on the wall in the extended lobby area between the lobby and multipurpose room. A few church leaders have been trained on its proper use, thanks to Dan VanHouwe.
Jesus spoke to them saying, "I am the light of the world."John 8:12
I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in me shall Live. John 11:25

recorded message about the schedule change
2. Tune into WJTL (90.3 FM) or WDAC (94.5) or...
